We set off at 7am driving through the Mountain Pine Ridge Reserve, moving into subtropical rainforest where wildlife is abundant. The drive to Caracol is a jungle experience of its own. There is a strong possibility of viewing Belize’s amazing wildlife such as the Jaguar and Tapir.
Upon reaching the site of Caracol, you will receive a fully guided tour where you will learn about the ancient Maya and the history behind the expansive site. After touring the excavated portion of the site, we have lunch at one of the picnic sites provided by the park.
We then make our way back through the Mountain Pine Ridge Reserve where you will visit a lush and quaint cave called Rio Frio Cave, followed by indulging at natural swimming holes at Rio On Pools. We then return to San Ignacio at around 5pm.
